60 pounds of luggage later and I am finally ready!! I cannot believe the time is only hours away from when I'll be taking off to another country and to a life changing experience. 9 hours till lift off and only four hours until I'm up and getting ready to leave for the airport! I really don't think that the whole thing has hit me yet; I'm still a little numb and not quite sure whether I should feel excited or nervous or scared. Once I set foot on that plane though, I think there is going to be a whirlwind of emotions headed my way. I'm so blessed to actually have the opportunity to travel abroad and I'm stoked to see not only what it has in store for me, but the other students and faculty members as well. While I'm there, I will be researching how literacy affects the lives of adolescents and cannot wait to be inside the schools in Heredia and MonteVerde. I wish to be 110% immersed in this wonderful culture and really come to live how they do. Costa Rica is known to be one of the happiest countries in the world and I plan on embracing every bit of it! :) I highly doubt I'll be getting much sleep, but I better try and attempt to get some. I'll be updating later this week with pictures included to keep everybody posted on what's going on and how I'm doing.
