Well, it's now about 11:15 back in the States but it's only 9:15 here in the beautiful country of Costa Rica. I never thought I would be more excited to see a bed in my life until right about now! Today has been a fairly long day and going on very little sleep doesn't mix too well with that. I guess it's just a preview of whats to come! I think I can handle three and a half weeks of being busy and a little exhausted though :) Overall, today went great! It was my first time flying and both of our flights went well and was a very fun and exciting experience for me. Our second flight out of Fort Lauderale was a little over an hour delay due to to certain difficulties but I tried sleeping on that two and half hour flight as much as I could. Right now, we are located about 2,500 feet above sea level and my ears continue to pop. I've found myself feeling a little unbalanced and simply put...just a little strange. Our guide has explained to us that it's just due to the elevation and our long day of travels. Once we landed today and got into San Jose, we had lunch at this little joint where I was able to experience REAL MEXICAN FOOD!!!! I thought the arroz con pollo back home was good but boy was I wrong; this arroz con pollo put it to shame! We then went to the bank where we exchanged our American money for colones and also visited the Supermarket where a few of us got some treats :) Once we came to our amazing five star hotel, a few of the girls and I went down to the hot tub and had a little bit of relax time before we went to supper. Yet again, supper was delicioso! Today has been a little overwhelming just because there is so much to take in and it's a huge culture shock for me. I thought Wilmington traffic was crazy but hadn't seen anything until getting here; All of the people are so sweet and it's quite amusing to watch them stare and see how we act and react to things. All in all, it's been a great day but it has finally come to an end and it is bed time for this girl! I plan on getting a full nights rest so I can be energized tomorrow when we visit the La Paz Waterfall Gardens!!
